More Baby Shower Pictures

More Photos Here
If you missed my sneak peek of some shower pictures, here are ALL of the decor details and the setup over at THIS post. It was stunning!

Today I wanted to share with you some of the pictures that my sister in law took while I was opening presents! We were blessed with so many things! From tutus to cute bikinis, I can't wait to dress up Little Miss Priss. We also received SO many embroidered things --- just about every bib and burpcloth is monogrammed with her name or initials. I love that!

We also received so many of the big items we needed off of our registry from the bassinet to the jumper and bouncer to the food maker and so much more. And the wooden highchair! I love the heirloom highchair I received from my parents. It's brand new and they are hard to find, but I now have something that I can save for my grandbabies too!

There are still so many photos to show, but I'll probably just do one more post later. Hope you enjoy these and please check out the shower details HERE if you missed it!

What was one of your favorite baby
items from your registry?
I can't wait to use all of our goodies!
Little Bit is already a tad wee bit spoiled!

Oh How Pinteresting {Easter Treats}

It is time to link up for a fun Wednesday of sweet treats that will have your mouth watering. I love holiday treats and Easter treats happen to be some of the cutest sweets to make. What I love about things like this is that it is the perfect activity to do with your children. This is a great way to get festive and involve your children in enriching activities at home.

And of course, who doesn't love to eat? Especially when it's SWEETS!

Simple and easy cupcakes that have my mouth
watering for Easter Sunday.

Pretty sure I'm going to try these this year!

Perfect for your child's class or friends.

I don't think you can get much more simple than this!

Here is a tasty treat that I've made before.
Use either white chocolate or chocolate to coat your pretzels.
Add some eggs and even stick a chick peep on it if you'd like.
Stick in the refrigerator for awhile and then you have a salty/sweet treat!

Check out all pins on my Easter board
over at Pinterest and make sure to link up!

What's your favorite Easter candy?
Mine is Reese's Eggs and the original
Cadbury Eggs...YUM.

Old Wives Tale or Truth?

Okay, so here is a good one that you can answer for me...

How many of you have heard the myth that if you bend over too much or stretch your arms up above your head too much it can cause the umbilical cord to wrap around the baby's neck? Apparently my mom and aunts all believe this and don't like seeing me do those things.

If only they were home while I was organizing and cleaning. I'm always moving, bending, reaching and what not. So of course now I'm curious about this myth and Google didn't really answer my question.

So, have any of you heard this or had a doctor talk about it? I plan on asking my doc next week, but until then...

I actually thought this yesterday while grocery shopping.
So many people hold open doors and help me and smile at me.
Many people asked how I was doing too.
Wonder what they are really thinking?
Dammmnnnn looookkk at that belly.

What's your take on this old myth?

When You Know Your Husband is Having A GIRL

For those of you that know me personally or know my husband, you probably caught on to the fact that my hubs was determined to have a little boy first. He wanted a girl, but he just wanted her as the second child. He has this fear that having a girl first will turn him into a total softy.

{I have to admit it; he really already is a softy.}

Finally in the last couple of months he's referred to his Little Bit as his "little girl" or his "little girly." I have to say that hearing those words makes my heart melt. I can't wait to see Daddy with his little girl (or as I like to say, his little Princess).

Then on yesterday he made me heart really smile and it was something so tiny, but I realized it. He was talking about a friend of ours daughter and said "she had a big bow and a cute dress with different colors of Chevron in it."

Um, excuse me....

Did my husband just refer to a little girl's dress as a Chevron dress (which it indeed was)!? Obviously he has been paying attention as I've mentioned the word Chevron along the way while designing her nursery and recently when ordering her bows.

It's because of his keen fashion sense as a guy already (my friends sometimes refer to him as metro-sexual--haha) and his knack of knowledge already on Chevron, that I can trust him to dress our daughter. I'll just have to train him on the bows and headbands and how each outfit must have one... :)

But to be honest, I'm not so worried about that anymore. I think Daddy to be will a good little dresser and Little Bit will always be looking sharp!

Speaking of Chevron, this week I will share some nursery photos!

And if you missed yesterday's post, HERE is a sneak peek at some maternity photos!
Can't wait to share some more...

A Sneak Peek of Maternity Photos

Today hubby and I are off to church, lunch and then a movie date. YAY for squeezing in dates before Little Bit arrives. I think that is something very important to remember now and even after she comes. You always have to make time for each other no matter what.

And until tomorrow, here are some sneak peek shots from our maternity session yesterday. I am dying to see the rest and will share more next week, but here are a few good ones... ENJOY!

I'm ecstatic over them so far! I love being pregnant, how about you?

This pictures mean so much to me. Our photographer did amazing and
I am so blessed with an amazing husband. Ah, I love that guy and our Princess!

What Your Pregnancy Style Says About You as a Mother

What your Pregnancy Style says about you as a Mother Kristen Hurst is a stay at home mother of three who enjoys blogging. She received her bachelor's degree in fashion marketing, and writes often about maternity swimwear. When she's not trying to juggle the lives of Casey, Austin and Ben, she enjoys painting and catching up with a great Jane Austen novel.

It’s true, when I found out I was expecting, I became mother earth incarnate. I was going to make homemade baby food, (from our own garden, of course) knit baby booties, hats and blankets with organic wool sheared from free-range sheep and create a routine of bedtime stories, lullabies and lots and lots of cuddling. Well, three boys later, I probably didn’t achieve everything on my mother-to-do list, but I did my best (in between sleep deprivation and play dates), but what of my maternity wear? Did it also reflect my parenting style?

Looking back upon those pregnancy years, it did! In fact, I can kind of predict what kind of mom a woman will be based upon her maternity style.

Which category do you fall into? Let’s take a look and see:

Mother Earth: Yes, this was me, long flow-y material, I also kept my hair long so that my babies could gently play with it while I nursed them. Nothing was form-fitted, rather comfort was what I was after, and it reflected in my stretchy pajamas, gypsy-sleeved dresses and floral print maternity tops. This is a mother who is relaxed, who doesn’t mind rolling around on the floor with a squirrely toddler, someone who can follow them across the monkey bars and help those tiny hands make playdoh dinosaurs and chocolate chip cookies, the mess can wait, playtime – never!.

 • Chic Mom: We all know this one; think Victoria Beckham dressed to the ‘T’’s with her handsome hubby and brood of children (remember she was ‘Posh’ after all). The former Spice Girl’s maternity wear stayed true to her design aesthetics with clean lines and sophistication, a mother who is efficient, organized and polished. Play dates scheduled months in advance as well as birthdays and end of the season sports parties.

Budget Mom: This mom loves a bargain and that includes her maternity clothing, as in hitting up consignment and thrift stores, family members and friends for all their used clothing. She is the same mother who faithfully brings that ever-present and overly-stuffed coupon binder when she goes shopping and her children follow suit with cute clothes bought at bargain prices. Nothing looks as good as money saved feels, for her.

 • June Cleaver: An iconic postcard of motherhood; home-cooked meals, silverware set at the tables, aprons, apple pie and nothing out of place. This mother is the one who wears strictly maternity-wear; denim jumpers, turtle necks, cardigan sweaters and no-nonsense shoes, she adheres to a strictly form follows function creed. She teaches Sunday school, piano lessons, gathers the family at her house for holiday meals and loves to scrapbook. Yes, there are many of us who wear the badge of motherhood. And though our style and clothing choices may vary, we all share one important passion; our children. Just because one mother wears pearls and sweater sets doesn’t mean she isn’t as efficient a mother as one who stretches the family dollar down to the wire and clothing that was donned by four former mothers.

At the end of the day, motherhood becomes more than a state of mind. And for those of us who can admit that motherhood isn’t based upon outward appearances or whose kids have better grades, athletic abilities or more toys to play with; rather motherhood is a gift given in very small doses, usually at that moment before you finally go to bed and check on that toddler who sleeps the blissful sleep that only babes are granted, you realize motherhood is also a state of grace.

I actually think this is pretty spot on. I do tend to fall into the Mother Earth category.
I intend on giving my baby my milk for the first year; I intend on making her own food;
my cleaners are all organic for her and if it was up to me, everything would be organic!
So I'd say that ideally, I want to be in the Mother Earth category, but I think I fit there well anyway.

Thanks to Kristen for sharing her awesome article with us!

How Long Will You Love Me?

Today's post is a special one that I am happy to do. On my previous blog, Romance In a Glance, I once had the privilege of sharing this beautiful bride's wedding day with all of my readers. Well now I get to feature something even more special --- her mother's first children's book!

This has been in the making for a very long time and with a little bit more help, her first publication will be printed. I love the colorful illustrations in this children's book but I most of all love the message. This is the perfect book to read routinely to your child to help them realize that you'll love them forever no matter what they do; who they are; or who they become.

From the Author, Patti Brassard Jefferson:
This book has been years in the making but now that the creative part is complete, every thing is going at a whirlwind pace! What started as a single drawing for a Valentine's Day card, has slowly, but oh so surely, become my first book.
Each illustration is sketched out and tweeked on a plain spiral bound drawing pad. Then I grab my metal Willie Wonka lunch box which is full of regular coloured pencils and I work out the colour schemes. Once I like it, I do the same thing all over again but on watercolour paper and use my Derwent watercolour pencils.

For more information on the book please go HERE
Also, you can visit the site to see if it is a project that you believe in and want to
help fund. A simple $1 can help bring this dream to life. The author has almost reached her
goal and then she can achieve her dream of publishing her first book. Amazing!
You really need to check out this link and see the adorable video for the book!

What do you guys think about this talented mama?
Disclaimer: I have posted this because I believe in it; I am not receiving
anything to do this. I just want to show support for someone else's dreams!
