How Long Will You Love Me?

Today's post is a special one that I am happy to do. On my previous blog, Romance In a Glance, I once had the privilege of sharing this beautiful bride's wedding day with all of my readers. Well now I get to feature something even more special --- her mother's first children's book!

This has been in the making for a very long time and with a little bit more help, her first publication will be printed. I love the colorful illustrations in this children's book but I most of all love the message. This is the perfect book to read routinely to your child to help them realize that you'll love them forever no matter what they do; who they are; or who they become.

From the Author, Patti Brassard Jefferson:
This book has been years in the making but now that the creative part is complete, every thing is going at a whirlwind pace! What started as a single drawing for a Valentine's Day card, has slowly, but oh so surely, become my first book.
Each illustration is sketched out and tweeked on a plain spiral bound drawing pad. Then I grab my metal Willie Wonka lunch box which is full of regular coloured pencils and I work out the colour schemes. Once I like it, I do the same thing all over again but on watercolour paper and use my Derwent watercolour pencils.

For more information on the book please go HERE
Also, you can visit the site to see if it is a project that you believe in and want to
help fund. A simple $1 can help bring this dream to life. The author has almost reached her
goal and then she can achieve her dream of publishing her first book. Amazing!
You really need to check out this link and see the adorable video for the book!

What do you guys think about this talented mama?
Disclaimer: I have posted this because I believe in it; I am not receiving
anything to do this. I just want to show support for someone else's dreams!

Baby Clothing Sizes {Help}

So Little Bit got a ton of adorable clothes from her shower and I seriously can't wait to play dress up with her. All of her wonderful shower guests stocked her closet full! I have a feeling this child will be dressed to the "T" everyday; especially if she'll have any visitors. Forget what mommy looks like, it's all about the baby now.

The outfit I've been eyeing for forever :)
{I do intend on still dressing cute, but just sayin}

I've been holding onto a coupon for Carter's where I had my eye on a whole series of clothes that were all within the same color scheme. I've been very good and haven't purchased any clothes for Little Bit in months because of my shower and I thought perhaps I'd end up with that little outfit. Well now that the shower is over, I hightailed it to the store to use my coupon and luckily that little set of clothes was on SALE. WOOHOO.

But here is my question for you guys (you pro-mamas)...how does clothing size typically work? For instance, is 0/3 months and 3 months the same? How long is a baby usually in NB size and is it 0/3 months after that or 3 months? Then after 3 months is it 3/6 or just straight to 6? (Most clothing she has is from Carter's)

It's somewhat confusing as I am trying to make sure I have a variety of clothes and that any 6-9 month clothes I purchase her are long sleeve considering it will be Fall/Winter time. Also, will creepers work around 6 months even with colder weather (just to wear indoors)? Of course in Louisiana, they may even work outside--HA.

Ahhhhh, this is confusing.

More of that adorable collection from Carter's!

Who is ready to give some advice?
Stay tuned to see some of her adorable
clothes from her shower...:)

Our Baby Shower Details {First Look}

Our baby shower was this past weekend and all I can say is --- WOW. It was perfect. My mom, my aunts, sisters in law and friends did an amazing job and it was just simply perfect. The decor was beautiful and just as I had hoped (it was all done before I even arrived--loved the surprise). We had a wonderful turnout of people that showed up to celebrate our day and it was great to see so many people and catch up. We were blessed with so much for our Little Bit leaving us very little to have to go out and purchase. She's pretty much good to go and may I say that she'll be styling in all of her cute new clothes. Her closet is pretty darn full! I can't wait to dress her up.

I was so excited for our shower that I hardly slept the night before (although I just couldn't get comfortable either). I anxiously awaited the day all week and I can't believe it's come and gone now. But it was perfect! I couldn't have asked for more and I love looking at the photos. I can never thank everyone enough who made the day so beautiful for us. My mom, my amazing mom, worked her booty off in preparation for this. She was determined for it to be the shower of my dreams and she more than succeeded.

Below is just a sneak peek of the details of the shower. Later this week, I will share some more with you! I'm still trying to catch up on the aftermath of organizing, unboxing and cleaning.

Enjoy...

What do you guys think?
So perfect for me and my Little Bit. :)
Stay tuned this week for more on her shower!
I should add that my mom made the diaper cake and my dad did the fruit creation.
Yay for creative genes!

Friday's Letters: My Best Friend's Shower

Photobucket

Dear Little Bit, I hope you're as excited about tomorrow as I am. Tomorrow is our
special day -- it's our baby shower. Well your baby shower really, but mommy gets to
play with all of the stuff until you get here. And I get to see all of our family and friends
and mingle with them over some delicious food. I know you'll hear them all talking, but
soon enough you'll get to meet them all. Dear Daddy to be, Thanks for being the shiz-nit.
Dear Gigi (my mommy), I know you've been working hard along with all of my aunts,
sister in laws and friends, to give me the most beautiful shower tomorrow.
 I know it will be perfect and I can't wait.
Dear Readers, I can't wait to share photos with you from the shower.
Until then, here are some photos of my best friend and I at her baby shower
(remember the one I wrote about here).
Her baby came before the shower...he was just too excited!

Happy Friday!
What's your weekend plans?

Weekly Update: 28 Weeks

{last week}

How far along? 28 weeks, 6 Days

Total weight gain: 18lbs so far!
Maternity clothes? Rocking them like they're hot.

Sleep: One night it is great and the next night it is not so great.
I'm also having to pee a bit more now that Miss Priss is getting bigger.
Best moment this week: Doctor's visit and hearing her sweet little heartbeat.
However, I really didn't like my gestational diabetes test. That crap was NO Fun.
Thankfully my mom came with me and we made a fun day out of it!
And we got her furniture and set it up on Friday! WOOHOO. I am in love!
Miss Anything? Just the flexibility and ease to sit certain ways and put shoes on.
Movement: She was on a roll this week. Body parts sticking out -- stomach doing rolls and
freaking my husband out...I LOVE it.
Food cravings: Sloppy Joes. That has been a random craving throughout the pregnancy.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I believe I've gone about two weeks without throwing up!

Belly Button in or out? A little of both!

Looking forward to: Reaching that 30 week mark and letting the countdown begin!
I'm so excited about this little peanut of mine! Our shower is soon and I can't
wait to finish the nursery and get things ready for her. It's getting close!

Did you feel like your pregnancy

Oh How Pinteresting {Easter Crafts}

Easter is such a fun and beautiful holiday. The meaning behind it and all of the blessings it entails, makes it such a beautiful day. On top of that, it's often times you're first get together before summer time and it's typically the perfect SPRING weather. There is just something about spring that I love and for some reason, that is when my purse always leads me to go shopping. Forget spring cleaning --- I'm all about spring shopping! I'm sure it will be much worse next year at this time when I buying spring dresses, tanks and skirts for Little Bit.

For today's link up, I decided to share some adorable Easter crafts that are great to do with children or for just some simple holiday touches around the home. Find the sources under my Easter Board and Children's Crafts board.

My favorite find today -- chalkboard eggs!

Toilet paper rolls turned Easter bunnies

Easy and modern

Easy-peasy jelly bean decor

Yay for spring wardrobe! via

Yay for what seems to be like Spring weather down

Nursery Sneak Peek {Again}

So now that the furniture is setup and ready to go, I've pretty much got the nursery done. However, there are some things that I know I'm getting at the shower that will complete the nursery (thanks mom) so I'm going to wait to show the actual nursery next week so I can include those items. Oh, and I don't have a mattress yet for the crib so you can't even see the super cute sheets right now! My OCD self won't post until it is perfect (but I snuck those in there today too).

So until then, here are some more sneak peeks of details around the room. I'm not really freaking out about the size of it anymore. I think it is going to work out great and then by the time she's bigger we'll have moved anyway. I'm so excited at how it has come together and there is even more that I can't wait to share! I'm so excited about this weekend -- it's Little Bit's special day...Our shower!

All sources will come in the final nursery reveal
